This year there will be two week long day camps held at the club for our junior members and grand junior members. These programs will be ran by Premier Sailing with support from our junior fleet members.
June 26-30 BEGINNERS LEARN TO SAIL WEEK
Age range: 6 – 17
This week is ideal for beginners or near beginners. Learn to sail an Optimist or a Sunfish (or possibly a 420 depending on conditions). Or if you have already done a little sailing, this week will be used to improve your skills. This year we will create special tee-shirts for RRYC Junior Training so please send your tee-shirt size when you register! Hours: 9.30 to 3.30 Monday - Friday
4th July Parade
We would like our Young Sailors to participate in the Irvington 4th July Parade. If you child or grandchild would like to join in get in touch in good time so that we can arrange an RRYC Junior Sailing teeshirt to wear at the parade.
August 14-18 PIRATE & ADVENTURE WEEK
Age range: 6 -17
A combination of our two most popular events, the adventure week which took place in June about four years ago, and the Pirate weeks of the past few years, this week is all about crazy fun on the water. Activities will include sailing to destinations, pirate activities and treasure hunts. In addition to general sailing instruction tied to the activities, sailing theory will include learning some traditional seamanship skills and basic navigation skills. Boats used will be Optimists, 420s and sunfish.
Hours: 9.30 to 3.30 Monday – Friday
